about

Meet Jon Paul Mazanec of RustiCustomFurniture

JP Mazanec is the artist responsible for this unique blend of local history and his one-of-a-kind modern rustic design.

He grew up in San Diego, Ca and moved to the Texas hill country in 1987. As a teenager JP helped maintain his father’s large wooden boat which required many of the same techniques he uses on the reclaimed wood he builds with today.

In 2010 JP started RustiCustomFurniture on a dare from his mother out of his two car garage. Today the company operates in a new 2000 SQ foot workshop.

He then saw a need for American-made real wood furniture. Inspired by the old Shaker style, he developed a rustic furniture style suited to using salvaged, recycled, and gathered wood from old barns and ranch buildings.

Why Choose Us

Our team values customer satisfaction, and we achieve this by making sure that we exceed our clients’ expectations in all aspects of our work. We also ensure a quick turnaround without sacrificing the quality of our output.

In addition, we believe that there’s a story in every piece of wood sourced from Texas. We aim to share this bit of history in the dining furniture and other woodwork that we offer.

The Wood

The wood we use to make our unique furniture is recycled from barns, houses, and other buildings in the Texas countryside. These structures are carefully disassembled to preserve the wood, and the boards are added to the stock of wood available for use.
